He was also an enthusiastic competitor in the first years of the Dutch National bouldering series, during the 90’s.
Next to bouldering on the highest national level, he has been coaching young and talented climbers for 20 years. He was coach of the Regional Talent youth Team in The Netherlands, and after that coach of the West Coast Climbing youth team, where he trained several National youth champions. At the time, West Coast Climbing was by far the best performing youth team in The Netherlands, and Jørg played a big part in raising the general level of the Dutch youth climbers. Currently, he is the personal coach of several national team members and accompanies them to National, as well as International competitions. In 2018 and 2019, Jørg went to multiple bouldering World Cups as the coach of Tiba Vroom.
Aside from climbing and coaching, Jørg has always had a creative side and a passion for design. In 2002, he co-founded the company Nihil Clothing. For Nihil, he designed the collections during the first years. He always loves to combine his creativity with his passion for climbing. Jørg is educated as an art historian and for years he had a successful building advisory firm. He (re-) designed and builded multiple climbing and bouldering gyms in The Netherlands. His most recent project was the total design and start-up of the Revolt Bouldering Gym in Delft, which is the first Dutch gym with an international competition wall.
